Following a career in the media and teaching College Business English, Flora worked as a Communications Officer and Policy Analyst  for the NWT government. Yes, she has attended “lots” of council meetings!

She's also a business leader. Along with her partner, she founded the first Internet Communications company in the Yukon. She also has a Diploma in Business Management and has worked as the Co-ordinator of the Community Futures program in the Yukon.

She has a strong background in Arts & Culture. She has an Honors BA, English/Drama (thesis: the "Emergence of the Canadian Playwright) and co-owned an art gallery in Whitehorse where she and lived and worked with Indigenous colleagues covering cultural stories.

As time went on, a lifestyle change meant a move to the Okanagan. She currently works for the Vernon Secondary School. She feels her part-time job leaves her sufficient time to devote to council affairs.

In her spare time, she has volunteered with the Yukon SPCA and organized horse clinics aimed at bringing specialized horse training to remote areas.
